So I’ve been working on my Sinanju for quite a while, probably one of my favorite kits so far. I’ve opted for a metallic-red type color, and plan to be adding weathering effects after coloring is done. I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves.

Sideshow Collectible’s 1:6 scale Plo Koon Review.

I recently really got into Sideshow’s action figures. They’re high end, not too pricey, and are of superb quality. They do moslty star wars 1:6 scale action figures, among other things. They also do things such as their “premium format” statues, which are basically very well sculpted statues, with actual clothing made from authentic material to boot. The same goes for their action figures, however their action figures are obviously…action figure-ish.

During my old PS1 days, I used to play this Star Wars game with my brother, called Star Wars Jedi Power Battles. It was basically a third person, multiplayer-able Star Wars game where you go around hacking and slashing enemies through scenarios from The Phantom Menace. Was a great game. There also was this one character I had no idea who he was. He was an alien jedi with a yellow lightsaber, and his ability to have his lightsaber flying around everywhere amazed me as a kid. So after looking through Sideshow’s collection, I came upon the Plo Koon action figure. I wanted it. Thus I tried to find it on eBay. And I did

I got him in the mail a day ago, and he was exactly as I expected him to be from Sideshow, high quality, excellent sculpt, excellent cloth tailoring Now onto the review :

The first thing I noticed is the excellent box. VERY collector-friendly, also held together by magnets (lol). Has nice graphics on the box, a very detailed description on the character and the jedi order. I like it.

When opening the box, you’ll notice that from the top, it seemed to have TWO boxes inside it. Turns out, its layed out in two separate boxes, one containing the character, one containing the accesories. In between these are descriptions of both the jedi order and the character. Nice touch.

When I opened up the box for the character, I noticed that its surrounded in cardboard…..extra protection? Lol.

The hands come in these little protective plastic thing you can easily peel off Nice one there.

Honestly, the head sculpt is amazing. Dead-on the character, with excellent paintwork and no paint slops. I’m rather impressed, actually, lol. Also look at the details in his mask :O

And thats about it . Overal, excellently done. I got this for 44$, around 20 or so less than the retail price. Pretty good deal, I think. Although I personally don’t recommend it to children, haha.

NOTE : All the photos were taken with a cell phone camera (a G1 running the SnapPhoto app, actually). I couldn’t find my camera so my phone had to suffice xD

O Gundam, Sinanju and vacation!

So I was on vacation a while ago, which I’ll explain in another entry since I’m too lazy to right now, haha.

During that time, I got myself the 1/100 MG Sinanju Ver. Ka. Awesome kit it is. I also got myself a bunch of sprays and supplies on my way back here, so I plan to paint it. Here are some pics of my Sinanju, and my current project, my O Gundam

Stuff I did in the Aion Beta

So I tried out the Aion beta recently. I played as an Elyos (a light-sided dude) Gladiator. I had a lot of fun, even though the level cap was just 10, and I might’ve wasted a few quests not realizing that . Anyway, onto the juicy pics and stuff.

When you first log into Aion, you’re greeted with an immensely beautiful login screen….

After logging in, you choose a side (if you don’t have a character already). The two available sides are the Elyos, the “light side” and the Asmodians, the “dark side”. Each frame for them have their own little descriptions. Interestingly enough, if you click on one of them, the other group’s descriptions turn into what your currently selected group thinks of them. Like so :

Afterwards, you get to finall select your characters! In which case, I chose an Elyos warrior.

Then you get to customize your character. Now, normally, in most MMORPG’s there aren’t a lot of customization options. Maybe a few hair styles here, a few face style here, etc. But in Aion, its completely different. The level of customizeability is unprecedented in any MMORPG I’ve played so far (and I’ve played a LOT). Its….comparable to those of Fallout 3/Obvlivion, even. Now thats saying something. Everything is controlled by sliders, so you’ll never see two of the same characters.

Then after you’re done, you can see your character in the character select screen.

After selecting your character, you’re welcomed by a beautifully rendered forest. And your first quest, as shown on the right.

The game has some great idle animations based on your surroundings and weather.

After doing some basic starter quests that familiarized me with the game’s basics (such as combat, hot keys and whatnot) I arrived at the first actual village. And then something I’m very familiar with in MMORPG’s came to me : Loads of quests to do. I love it! So after taking up all the quests and selling junk I found from monsters along the way, I decided to go out to the lake to do a quest, which required me to kill some weird Kobold things. But then I get deviated looking at the lake, because its so beautiful. Until I started killing pink swans, haha.

Possibly the best looking MMORPG out to date.

Apparently your character used to be a general of sorts before he/she lost their memory...AWESOME.

After "ascending" where you regain your memories and become a Daeva, you go to the main Elyos city named Sanctum. It's beautiful.

Oh - and you also get wings!

Aion Beta

Look what I got today . I went ahead and purchased the Limited Edition of Aion : The Tower of Eternity. Since I plan to quit WoW, I’m moving to a new MMO. I hope Aion is fun . If not then well…at least I’ll have something to kill time with, eh?

English regents round 2.

Today is the second day of the English regents. From what I remember, we’ll be having Critical Lens stuff to do. Now I have to remember all the books and their authors…sigh.

Will post update after I’m done.

Was a relatively easy regents exam. Then again, its English so thats already easy as is XD

Me. Looking at something shocking.

Yay its my first post! WordPress seemed like a really neat way to blog. It just looks professional and stuff, lol.

Anyway I’ll start posting actual stuff later, after I’ve taken pictures and decided what to write about, haha.

Anyway, introduction time. Name’s Ittimai Sirikuptamas, but I just go by Bay. Currently live in the US, New York (The Big Apple). Currently going to Newtown High, but school just ended and summer just started, so I’ll officially be a senior (yay!) by next school year . Was born here in the US, but I traveled around a lot as a kid. Lived half my life in Thailand and Hong Kong. Didn’t like Thailand, although Hong Kong was indeed awesome. I aspire to be a video game concept artist in the future, or at least something similar, since my best skill is drawing and painting.

I like anime related stuff, building model kits, playing video games, drawing/painting (one of the biggest things in my life), listening to music, gadgets and technology-related stuff.
